Bob Revolution SE

BOB Revolution SE Single Jogging Stroller, Black

The Bob Revolution SE stroller is considered a great jogging stroller that you can also use on your regular daily activities. This stroller is lighter and is easier to lift and store at the back of your car. It’s narrower as well, so it can fit most driveways and entrances.

Pros:

  • Lighter
  • More color options
  • Comes in eye-catching colors
  • Perfect for jogging and regular daily activities

Cons:

  • Non-adjustable handlebar
  • A bit more expensive

Bob Revolution Flex 3.0

BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Jogging Stroller | Smooth Ride Suspension + Easy Fold + Adjustable Handlebar, Graphite Black [New Logo]

The Bob Revolution Flex Stroller is a stroller designed for jogging and hiking. It has a suspension system similar to that of mountain bikes to traverse different types of terrains. The Flex 3.0 stroller also has an adjustable handlebar, which makes it suitable for shorter or taller parents.

Pros:

  • More affordable
  • Adjustable handlebar
  • A silent magnetic closure system for peek-a-boo window
  • Higher maximum weight capacity

Cons:

  • Only two color options
  • Bulkier

Bob Revolution SE vs Flex: Features Face-to-Face Features

When choosing between the Bob Revolution SE Stroller and the Flex 3.0 Stroller, taking a closer look at their features can help you come up with the right decision. Based on Bob Revolution reviews, here are some of the critical features that we should compare:

Seat and Recline

Both strollers come with ultra-padded adjustable reclining seats designed for your baby’s comfort. However, there are slight differences between the two seats.

While both seats recline, the seat of Revolution Flex 3.0 has infinite recline so your child can sit upright to enjoy all-day comfort and lay near-flat if he wants to sleep.

In addition to the Flex’s infinite recline feature, another thing that makes its seat stand out is you can recline the seat with just a push of a button. This easy recline operation is a big plus for moms who are always in a hurry or have too many things in their hands.

Another notable feature of the Flex’s seat is its high maximum capacity—75 lbs. This is higher as compared to that of SE’s, which is only 70 lbs.

Because of this, we believe that the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 is the winner for this feature.

Wheels & Suspension

The two strollers come with a three-wheel design—one wheel at the front and two at the back. The sizes of their wheels are also identical—16-inch rear wheels and 12-inch front wheels. They also have locking front swivel wheels, so both strollers can be easily maneuvered while jogging or running.

But since the strollers are designed for different uses, their suspension systems vary a bit. The Bob Revolution SE has two-position shock absorbers that deliver an extra smooth ride while jogging.

On the other hand, Bob Flex 3.0 is equipped with air-filled tires and a suspension system similar to that of mountain bikes so your child can enjoy a comfortable ride even on hiking terrains.

Safety Features

The Bob Revolution stroller series is designed with safety in mind. That’s why the two strollers are equipped with a 5-point safety harness. This is considered the gold standard for strollers’ safety harnesses. The harnesses also feature a no-rethread design, allowing the parents to adjust the straps in the easiest way possible!

Since these strollers are made for jogging and hiking, these come with a wrist strap, which ensures that you will stay attached to the stroller at all times. In this way, the accidental rolling off of the stroller will be prevented.

The two strollers also come with a foot-operated parking brake system. However, Flex’s brake system has a flip-flop friendly pedal located at the middle of the rear axle. The brake system of the SE can be challenging to access and operate when you’re wearing flip flops.

Because of this slight difference, the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 wins this round.

Folding system

These jogging strollers are pretty bulky, which is expected from this type of stroller. Despite this, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to fold them.

Both strollers have a two-fold design, which allows parents to fold them in just two easy steps. However, the folding process requires two hands, which may not be feasible for parents at all times. The strollers also don’t come with an automatic lock and a self-standing mechanism.

Car seat compatibility

The two strollers are compatible with most major brand car seats like Bob, Britax, Chicco, Peg Perego, and Graco using the Bob Infant Car Seat Adapter. This attachment is sold separately for both strollers.

Canopy

One feature you’ll love with these strollers is its oversized canopy that will indeed protect your kids from the harmful UV rays.

While the canopy of the Revolution SE has five positions and offers 125-degree coverage, it doesn’t go all the way down, so it doesn’t provide extensive protection. On the other hand, the Flex’s canopy goes all the way down and is made up of a UP 50+ fabric, which delivers excellent UV blockage protection.

Additionally, the canopies come with a peek-a-boo window that will allow you to check your baby while you’re pushing the stroller. However, the peek-a-boo window of the SE comes with a Velcro closure system, which makes noise and may disrupt your baby’s sleep.

This issue was solved with the new and improved Flex design as it already comes with a magnetic closure, which is a lot quieter.

It’s the Flex 3.0 that won this round!

Handlebar

The handlebars of these two strollers are well-padded and offer a comfortable grip. However, there’s a big difference with the functionality of the strollers’ handlebars.

The SE’s handlebar is positioned 40” from the ground. Unfortunately, it’s not adjustable, so that it may be a bit uncomfortable for smaller or taller parents.

The good news is, this issue is (once again) addresses with Bob Flex 3.0 as this stroller already comes with an adjustable handlebar. Its rotating handlebar can be adjusted to 9 different height settings, ranging from 34.8 to 48 inches, making it suitable for parents of different heights.

For this round, the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 won yet again.

Accessories

Both strollers can be fitted with a wide range of accessories—Bob Single Snack Tray, Car Seat Adapter, Handlebar Console, Sun Shield, and Weather Shield. However, the strollers don’t come with accessories. Those are sold separately.

Bob Revolution SE vs Flex: Stand Out Features

Based on the features that we’ve talked about, it seems like both strollers are quite similar. But of course, each stroller has its stand out features.

With that in mind, here’s the difference between Bob Revolution SE and flex.

Adjustability

The adjustable handlebar is not exactly a groundbreaking feature, but this feature’s addition can be beneficial, especially for the comfort of taller and shorter parents.

This feature can only be found in the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 stroller.

Color options

For some parents, aesthetics matter. That’s why strollers now come in different color options.

Unfortunately, the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 only comes in two colors—Lunar Black and Graphite Black. The good news is the SE model comes in three eye-catching colors—black, navy, orange.

Lightweight Frame

When it comes to jogger strollers, lightweight frames are a must as these will allow you to traverse through different types of terrain quickly. It also makes transportation a lot easier.

Between the two, it’s the Bob Revolution SE that’s lighter as it weighs only 25 lbs, making it 3.5 lbs lighter than the Flex 3.0.

Narrow size

If you’re looking for a jogger stroller that you can also use in malls and crowded spots, you should consider its bulk.

Between the two, it’s the SE that’s also more compact.

Conclusion

There’s no denying the fact that both jogging strollers are carefully and meticulously designed. Although the majority of their features are similar, they do come with slight differences. For us, we recommend the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 because of its adjustability and its more affordable price.

Which is the best stroller for you? That would depend on your personal preference. Based on our Bob Revolution reviews on Bob Revolution SE vs Flex, here’s our recommendation:

Use the Bob Flex Stroller if:

  • You have a lower budget.
