As a mother of a clever little girl, I never doubted about how much affect a standard diet can have on the behavior and health of my kid.
Of course, like most people I am aware that diet filled with good vegetables and fruits is great, but with babies, I simply thought that baby food and milk is enough.
I was really wrong and thanks to my pediatrician who immediately pointed the nutrients that were absence in my girl’s meal. He suggested some of the superfood for my baby and one of the suggestion is adding fish to my girl’s meal for healthier skin and better grades in the future.
This made me realize the importance of adding fish to the diet of my toddler and I started researching for some of the best yummy and easy to swallow dishes for my chubby-precious princess.
10 Fish Dishes For Babies
1) Mini Fish Pies And Cheesy Potato Topping (Yummy And Delicious)
For this you need 250 grams of swede (cut and peeled into huge chunks), 300 grams of cod fillet, 250 grams of peeled and cut potatoes (in large chunks), 600ml milk, 25 grams of unsalted and normal butter, 50 grams of plain broccoli floret, 1 table spoon plain flour, and 75 grams of grated cheese.
For preparing this dish, first you need to preheat the oven to about 190°C, then you need to boil the swede and the potatoes for 15-20 minutes, till they become soft. Then you need to mash this mixture with milk.
Take the fish and steam it on a pan filled with boiling water for 5-7 minutes. You can even microwave the mixture on medium flame by covering it for about 5 minutes.
Take the broccoli and stream it until it becomes tender and then drain and cut it into tiny pieces. For making the cheese sauce, first take a pan and melt the butter. Then you must add flour to it and stir it until it becomes a paste.
Continue to stir until it gets mixed with the remaining milk. You must continue to cook until the sauce becomes ticker and after that add 2/3 of cheese.
Now flake the cooked fish and ensure that it is cut into 6 or tinier greased pieces, and on top of it add the broccoli and pour the cheese sauce.
2) Iron Man Salmon Along With couscous
To prepare this dish you need half sliced tiny red bell pepper, a small salmon fillet, unsalted butter, half cup of couscous, 4 to 5 cherry tomatoes, half table spoon lemon juice (not compulsory), and one teaspoon of freshly chopped parsley.
First you need to put the salmon on a foil (take a suitable piece of foil), and then preheat the oven to about 350 degree. Garnish the fish with tomatoes, red pepper, and add a little bit of butter and drizzle it with lemon juice.
Once the fish is covered with those ingredients, then add parsley and carefully wrap the fish along with the ingredients present in the foil and seal it. Then place them in the oven and cook for about 25 to 30 minutes, till the salmon becomes ready cooked. In the meantime, prepare the cous cous and place it aside.
Take the salmon out of the oven, and empty it into a bowl along with the veggies and add the cous cous. If necessary you can mash it or make it into a puree.
3) Healthy And Hearty Fish Chowder
For this you need 2 tablespoon of peeled and grated carrot, eight oz of white fish fillet, one table spoon of chopped and finely onion, 1 tablespoon of diced celery, one tablespoon of butter and flour, 16f oz of milk, and eight oz of peeled baking potato,
First you need to take a saucepan and melt butter in it, over medium heat. Then add the ingredients like celery, carrot, and onion. Then saute them for about 2 minutes.
Continue stirring the flour and make sure to add the milk and allow it to blend, and constantly keep stirring to avoid any kind of lumps. You can add potatoes and then boil the ingredients.
Cook for over 30 minutes and occasionally stir the contents. Then you need to add the fish and the remaining quantity of the milk and ensure that it is until the fish is done. Then you need to mash the lumps of the fish with the fork.

The ingredients to make this cheese filled dish are half cup of mayo, one cup of powdered bread crumbs, two shakes of hot sauce, half cup of cheese (preferably parmesan cheese), minced garlic or pepper, garlic powder, basil, and half cup of butter.
First you need to toss all the given ingredients into a huge bowl and mix them. Make sure the mixture is thick and fluffy. Then you need to spread the mixture on top of the Cod and add lemon juice or orange.
5) Baked Plaice (Just Like A Cake)
For this dish, take two skinned and chopped tomatoes, one skinned plaice fillet, half tablespoon of unsalted butter, one bay leaf, half cup of milk, and one potato.
Now preheat the oven to about 350 degree Fahrenheit. Then place the plaice on a oven-proof dish and cover it with butter, tomato and bay leaf. Now pour the required quantity of milk. Make sure to cover it and then bake it in the oven for about 20 minutes. In the meanwhile, you need to mash the potatoes which are boiled and mix it with the remaining butter and milk.
Then mash the fish using a fork and remove the bay leaf, and once that is done, you need to puree the fish using milk to cook. Then combine the ingredients with the mashed potato and serve.
6) Easy to digest Poached Fish Filet
The ingredients for making this dish consist of one cup of water, one pound of Cod or Haddock and necessary spices like onion, garlic, dill, lemongrass, etc.
First boil the water at simmer temperature along with the required spices in a tiny frying pan. Then you need to pat the filet dry using any paper towel and then add the filet to the water and heat it in the pan. Continue heating it until it becomes totally white.
Remove the pan from the stove and allow the fish to cool for about five to ten minutes so that you can continue cooking. Then you must cut, crumble or mash the poached fish and serve it to your kid.

Some babies like to poach the fish in the milk and this recipe is the perfect for it. Now you need the following ingredients – one table spoon flour, 180 grams of salmon, 30 grams of unsalted butter, 250 ml of fresh milk, half tablespoon chopped and fresh dill, half teaspoon of lemon juice.
First you need to steam the salmon and continue it until it gets cooked. Then you must check if there are any bones. Take a heavy pan base, and place butter into it and allow it to melt. Add flour to it and mix the ingredients thoroughly.
After that pour some milk and whisk it just before you add lemon juice. Continue to mix it until it becomes a smooth sauce. Then cook for about two minutes just before taking it out of the heat.
Once that is done, add the steamed fish and make sure to mash it using a fork. You can serve this with yummy rice or mashed potatoes.

To make this tasty and creamy textured baked fish, you need the ingredients such as 180 grams of cod fillets, 50 grams of cooked parsnip, 60 grams of cooked sweet potato, 40 grams of swede(cooked), 200 ml of fresh milk, one tablespoon vegetable oil, one tablespoon of finely chopped leeks and red pepper and one teaspoon of chopped parsley. Now for the sauce you need 1/2 flour, and tablespoon of veggie oil.
First to prepare this dish, you need to sauté the red peppers and leeks in vegetable oil. Continue to do it until it is fragrant and soft. Next you must put the fish fillet on the top of the chopped peppers and leeks. Then pour milk on the vegetables and fish and then you must add the chopped parsley.
For about six minutes you need to poach the fish. Then once that is done, transfer the fillets to tiny baking dishes.For the sauce, first you need to add oil in a pan and mix it with flour.

Now cook the given puree in vegetable oil for about 5 minutes at medium heat and then you need to add the steamed fish to the sauce. Remove the heated fish present in the pan from the stove and mash it with the fork.
10) Healthy Broccoli And Cod Puree
This is a healthy dish filled with iron, protein, antioxidants and vitamin C. You need to have the following ingredients like 80 grams of finely chopped leek, 14 grams of unsalted butter, 75 ml of milk, 100 ml of water, 60 grams of chopped broccoli, 100 grams of fresh cubed cod fillet, and 10 grams of finely grated parmesan cheese.
First you must take a saucepan and heat butter into it. Then you must sauté it gently and continue stirring it for three minutes. Then you must add potato and continue to sauté if for about three minutes. After that add water and milk and boil them along with the ingredients, until the vegetables become tender.
To that add the cod and broccoli and continue to stir it until it gets heated for 4 minutes or till the cod gets cooked. Then stir the puree and add cheese along with it till the ingredients become smooth and use the food processor or hand blender to soften the food.
